dress day fridays
January 22nd, 2010 § 0
when paula and i used to work together (and when things were a little more fun at the agency), the girls used to get dressed up on the first friday of each month. it was something fun to look forward to and i miss it. so now i am bringing dress day friday to ruby & caroline in a different sort of way by sharing a cute dress with all of you! to kick things off, let’s start with this:
(shocking that i picked one from anthropologie.)

want: professor’s chair
January 14th, 2010 § 0
i have been lusting after this chair for quite some time now. even thought it has gone on sale it is still too much to spend. but it would be perfect for my tiny apartment and could replace my garden chair, which is really meant for a patio or deck (neither of which i have).

isn’t it cute?
beautiful home from a single man
January 14th, 2010 § 0
i saw a single man last night, and aside from colin firth, i was struck by the home in which his character lived. after a little research, i discovered that it is the Schaffer home, designed by architect John Lautner. built in 1949 and constructed of redwood, concrete and glass, the home is nestled in the wooded hills of glendale, ca. and as luck would have it, the home is for sale!

beauty kickoff: lather
January 5th, 2010 § 2
well i decided to go ahead and add a new category, beauty, to our blog since i keep finding fun things to share.
lather is a pasadena based company with only three U.S. locations, none of which are even close to san francisco. luckily, you can shop online!

lather lip balm and scrub
i decided to check out the sugar scrub and mint lip balm for starters, both of which i love! the scrub made my skin so soft.
all of lather’s products are created with natural ingredients and there is something for everything – face, body, hair, men, women, babies, you name it.

paris envy: vintage furniture in phoenix
December 31st, 2009 § 0
the holidays have been quite busy but my mom and i managed to squeeze in a trip to phoenix and we came across paris envy! (thanks to design*sponge’s helpful city guides)
they have the cutest furniture and very reasonable prices. why is it i always find cute furniture in cities where i don’t live? anyway, we came away with a few easy to travel with items:
