About Ruby & Caroline

So, who are Ruby and Caroline, you might ask?

The modern story is that there were once two women, Chrissy and Paula, who worked in advertising. One day they got chatting on IM and realized that they both loved stationery, and they had previously owned small online businesses where they made their own note cards and invitations. After comparing notes and sharing links of things they loved in the world of paperie, they decided to join forces and try their hand at a business together.

A name is an important thing, and they wanted to pick something that reflected their pasts, interests, and gave a nod to the people who have had an impact on their current styles and tastes. The shop is a joint effort, so they wanted the name to be that of two people. And, after talking a while, Paula and Chrissy found they were both mentioning the influence of family in their lives, of mothers and grandmothers, of two women named Ruby and Caroline.

It’s their hope that the love that infuses their choice of a name, delight in paperie and gifts, and the ongoing search for others who feel the same way is apparent in their shop and blog.
